He never gets close, he does not appoint a main character or create any real narrative. He only films the collective life, everyday life, the movements and the striking nature around. Tents are erected, tents are packed, reindeer are noticed, reindeer are born, it will be winter and it will be spring. Unlike the contemporary and now more famous documentary filmmaker Arne Sucksdorff, Wesslén was careful to strive for authenticity.
