Movie Reviews

Los Angeles Times - 8/10 by Gary GoldsteinThe film is an architecture lover's dream.
Slant Magazine - 8/10 by Bill WeberLionizing a world-class architect without tipping into hagiography, this documentary performs a graceful cinematic dance around his works.
Empire - 6/10 by David ParkinsonVeers too close to hagiography, although it's visually arresting enough to carry you through sagging in the narrative.
NPR - 5/10 by Mark JenkinsThere's plenty of material for a lively, profound documentary about Norman Foster. But How Much Does Your Building Weigh, Mr. Foster? is, by design, lightweight.
The New York Times - 5/10 by A.O. ScottMr. Goldberger's words are among the more substantive in a film that at times seems ready to levitate from the screen on puffy clouds of praise.
Village Voice - 5/10 by Brian MillerBy the time this fawning documentary gets to Foster's CG-animated rendering for a $15 billion planned city in Abu Dhabi (a movie within the movie), you realize it's essentially an infomercial for the company he unsuccessfully tried to sell before the 2008 crash.
Boston Globe - 5/10 by Mark FeeneyA treatment of Foster so reverential it verges on camp.
Time Out - 4/10 by Keith UhlichA better movie would have explored Foster's way-of-the-future objectives with more beyond-the-hype insight and less Zen-master bullshit.
User Review - 10/10 by Munica VExcellent cast, a must see sentimental journey to connect all whom have lost something, bringing hope unsuspectingly ! A must see for the whole family !
User Review - 10/10 by Mary MHaving seen this movie now twice on streaming, I can say I would actually try to buy this one. Some find 'Eli' a little creepy (according to IMBD), we found him enchanting and the movie uplifting. What the story is about is mysterious, a return to simpler toy designs, a trip to LegoLand, and dealing with survivor's guilt and loss. It's not complicated, does not require you use all your brain cells to be cerebral. Just a fun movie that touches your heart. I am not saying more, because it will loose it's mystery and surprise.
