Leave your thoughts about Force of Nature.
Boston GlobeTy BurrForce of Nature lives up, down, and sideways to all those demands; it’s hardly a great film, but it keeps you watching, and only partly in disbelief.
VarietyDennis HarveyNone of this is particularly credible, let alone memorable, but it’s all executed with sufficient energy and humor to make for an enjoyable night’s entertainment.
Original-CinKim HughesLet’s get this out of the way right up front: Force of Nature is fairly terrible albeit in some interesting ways that won’t change the way you think about film but will make a Monday night couch-sit more entertaining, if only to discuss the WTF elements while washing out the popcorn bowl.
Chicago Sun-TimesRichard RoeperForce of Nature is more of a nasty little rainstorm than a Category 5 anything.
The A.V. ClubAnya StanleyIt certainly isn’t Polish’s intention to make any grand political statements with his action thriller, but expecting empathetic connection with a callous white cop is a big ask in today’s climate. And it sours what’s otherwise just a lackluster B movie drowned in buckets of rain.
The Globe and Mail (Toronto)Barry HertzRegrettably, and predictably, Force of Nature isn’t interestingly bad – it’s just bad.
RogerEbert.comNell MinowEven a script written by algorithm would make more sense than Force of Nature, a dumb dud of a movie that relies on the most preposterous of coincidences and the most exhausted of premises (in both senses of the word).
The Hollywood ReporterDavid RooneyMichael Polish (Big Sur, Amnesiac) directs with his foot nailed to the accelerator, but all the manic energy in the world can't stave off the boredom of Cory Miller's script, which is a deadly combination of convoluted and thin.
Rolling StonePeter TraversThere is nothing distinctive about this toxic available-on-demand tripe except the absence of Mark Polish, though Michael didn’t spare his wife Kate Bosworth from acting duty in a thankless role. One thing’s for sure: This downpour of offensive ethnic stereotyping is a total washout.
Slant MagazinePat BrownThe film presents its scattershot cop-movie tropes in earnest, as if, like hurricanes, they were natural, unavoidable phenomena.
