User Review - 10/10 by Jenn TFling* takes a very realistic and brutally honest look into the world of open relationships, while still maintaining a light-hearted sense of humor about it. The casting was fantastic, and I found myself immediately sucked into the storyline. You really feel for the characters' situations. Filming-wise, I personally enjoyed the method in which the scenes were shot. It was a personal touch that gave the film a style all it's own. Very HBO/IFC. And Kansas City is absolutely beautiful! You can tell the director has a real love and appreciation for the place. It was VERY beautifully shot! It's a shame that this film did not receive more theatrical recognition upon it's release!
User Review - 8/10 by Heather MThe Pitch Review WRITER: Come on, how many? DIRECTOR: I don't know. How many lives will be destroyed if a couple has an "open" relationship? I'll have to think about it. I love this story! So much potential for heat. I see tons of kissing, and sex, and kissing, and sex. Lots of it. And I want to film it in a voyeuristic, organic, shaky way. But high quality production. PRODUCER: Hell, yeah! With all this sex going on, let's be sure to have really cool, beautiful actors. We want to see them hooking up. WRITER: But the audience has to see the pain it causes. Anyone that's in a relationship with one person, and wishing they were with another person will understand. PRODUCER: The characters have to be really, really cool. The cool, popular, beautiful, successful young adults crossing into adulthood, and taking "being cool" in a relationship too far. Open relationships never work out. The brain can't take it. People can't take it. Something always breaks. DIRECTOR: Affairs of the heart are the most painful. Physical affairs are one thing, but sometimes, you just can't help who you fall in love with. It's the heart, man. Rules the universe. For some of us... PRODUCER: The only thing worse is unrequited love. DIRECTOR: (sigh). True. (sigh) WRITER: The answer is 42! From "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy." DIRECTOR: Shut up, writer.

User Review - 8/10 by Rei S4 out of 5 stars. A small highlight was hearing Asobi Seksu on the soundtrack.
User Review - 8/10 by l i n dIt's all about young people having a relationship with someone... and everyone with one small condition. NEVER LIE. At first, everything was a mess in the movie. you'd go like, what the fuck? "that's his girlfriend so why is she fcking brandon routh" but when you reach the middle of the film, you'd realize that it isn't all about playing the field. it talks of trust and being open with your partner. nomatter how much you consent that she sleep with another guy, if she's not meant for you then there's nothing you can do about it. my advice: IF YOU LOVE HER, AND SHE LOVES SOMEONE ELSE, LET HER GO IF SHE COMES BACK, ACCEPT HER IF SHE COMES BACK AND LOVES SOMEONE AGAIN ELSE, LET HER GO AGAIN. I know it doesn't make sense but what the fck, steven spielberg doesn't read my reviews anyways. i like the ending. Plus, even though there're a lot of unnecessary sex scenes, like when mason was humphing the couch to turn on sam, i mean for a guy watching the movie, that's like, SUPER GAY, but still, it made sense. you just cant' have them all.
User Review - 8/10 by scott aNunca vi um diretor usar a camera como John S Muller. E alem disso, tem uma ótima história também. Atenção especial para a trilha sonora.
User Review - 8/10 by Paul KVery good movie - along the lines of Reality Bites, the Big Chill (without the soundtrack or nostalgia), Chasing Amy, and Sex, Lies, and Videotape - but belonging to this decade rather than the past. To tell the truth, I didn't expect a film like this to be made anymore - I liked the use of the hand-held camera and the tight, quick shots that somehow seem to mimic the emotional tenor of the relationships in which everyone is close but no one seems willing to slow down, as if the allegiance to an idea can bring them all through no matter how unconventional or impractical. The movie follows the couples through one stage of their young lives, as they play out an experiment that began at a wedding they attended. Like these other movies, it's all about the relationships, and the couples are appropriately hip, emotionally open, and aren't too serious about their young, successful lives - it almost seems that events can't wait for such a character to wade through a pool of angst and deep introspection. And isn't that the way modern life often is acted out?
User Review - 8/10 by Jigs Tsad story. I wonder how other people make it work.
User Review - 8/10 by Kelly BInteresting. I think it ended good, but I kinda of wish the relationship between Sam and mason was real(like real life could be this way), before the James character got there. it would have been awesome if only there wasn't him to mess the whole shiz up. Anyway. Jealousy IS a stupid emotion. So I liked this movie for that, but everybody asking that question, "doesn't that make you jealous" kept making me angry for some reason. lol
User Review - 8/10 by Ellington CSensational, and almost livable storyline. Very good acting, and the characters virtually resemble exactly what the presumably would if this story actually happened. Open relationships and troubled minds. Great Film. Grade: B+/A-
