Entertainment TodayBrent SimonA fun, rich, Danish multi-character study that scores courtesy of its fully-dimensional story, interesting dialogue and vivid characterizations.
L.A. WeeklyChuck WilsonA hit in Denmark, this impressive debut feature from writer-director Anders Thom as Jensen is decidedly offbeat, with Jensen contrasting moments of brutal violence with the emerging gentleness of Torkild and his friends.
Chicago ReaderFred CamperThe personality conflicts among the four seem a bit formulaic, as do the flashbacks explaining why each turned to crime, but the narrative is inventive enough to sustain interest.
Washington PostStephen HunterIt's funny and violent and fast and, er, Danish.
Los Angeles TimesKevin ThomasAnders Thomas Jensen's Flickering Lights may have been a huge hit in Denmark, but it doesn't travel well. A bleak male-bonding comedy that's a queasy blend of brutal humor and escalating sentimentality, it is overlong, heavy-handed, slow and unpersuasive.
User ReviewNonni ÞA brilliant roller coaster of both hilarious and tragic. Had me wondering about the meaning of life one minute and orange juice dripping out my nose the other. Very surreal but sweet. I just asked a few friends of mine this week what the movie was that everyone in Denmark knows? They all replied with one voice: "Blinkende Lygter!" Now I know why, truly a movie you will remember.
User ReviewJohanna Lstrange story, a comical tragedy, great characters (a combination of the actors' + director's work)
User ReviewGordie LFacile : le seul film au monde où j'ai applaudi à la fin. Youpee vivement les suivants !
