Monteil becomes obsessed with the case, blasting through the tough environment and internal pressures in the police department to put together a ground-breaking DNA database that finally yields a bitter victory. Commissioner Monteil eventually puts a face and a name - Guy Georges - on the killer, securing his arrest. But seven young women have lost their lives over the course of an investigation that was drawn out too long - for the wrong reasons.
