User ReviewScott RFlamingo Road is an incredible film. It is about a small town corrupt sheriff who manipulates local candidates to the state legislature, but he eventually comes into conflict with an out-of-town carnival dancer. Joan Crawford and Zachary Scott give amazing performances. The screenplay is well written. Michael Curtiz did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the drama and romance. Flamingo Road is a must see.

User ReviewJah RI loved the ending to this flick. My husband thought Joan Crawford was a man though. I had to explain she had a hard life.
User ReviewSV GJoan Crawford in her Warner years was in my opinion her best years even though they are later in her career. Flamingo Road is a really great story with good performances by everyone involved. Joan with a gun and a reason to get even is always a better Joan. This melodrama will keep you entertained and it's not without the lavish costumes and leg shots that is all Joan.
User ReviewAdam DAs far as political melodramas go, this is brilliantly cynical and bleak.
User ReviewJoel AJoan Crawford is electric in the cult hit Flamingo Road about a wild girl gone good & trying to make a life or herself but the local sherif won't have it. The sherif is masterfully acted by Sidney Greenstreet & the as the tension mounts so does the performance. It shows the underbelly of a lot people but it exposes it so honestly & heartfelt. Even the side characters (Like Lucy the Nightclub Owner) have a part to play. It's deemed as a noir film which it is but always a showcase for the darker side of human nature.
User ReviewAndrew BEnjoyable drama with Joan Crawford showing her strong side with the weak, sensitive edge, but made especially intriguing and watchable because of the presence and performance of Sydney Greenstreet -a truely odious but brilliant portrayal of a ruthless Southern sherriff. There have been few screen characters so repellent yet so fascinating to watch.
User ReviewVadim DThis isn't the best film to showcase Joan Crawford's talents, but there is still enough here to entertain. Her nice persona just doesn't shine the same way her bitchy one does. Still her toughness is an attribute to this pseudo-noir.
