Film Freak CentralBill ChambersThe filmmaking may be a little ramshackle, but it's sensitive, and the performances are soulful.
Commercial Appeal (Memphis, TN)John BeifussA treasure trove of content for Presleyologists who interpret Elvis as a repository and reflector of America's conflicted and evolving attitudes toward youth, class, race and sex.

User ReviewCarrie Gdefinitely one of the best elvis films. I like how his role was pretty serious and he wasn't playing a likely leading male character. For once he wasn't a race car driver, or a water ski instructor :P
User ReviewTracie SIt's Elvis...he's great in everything.
User ReviewSamantha CA good film one of my favs good acting from the man
User ReviewRick MSam Burton's second wife Neddy is Indian, their son Pacer a half-breed. As struggle starts between the whites and the Kiowas, the Burton family is split between loyalties. Neddy and Sam are killed; Pacer sides with the Indians, his half-brother Clint with the whites. One of Elvis' best movies and he did a great job of acting.
User ReviewDavid HGrandious Anti-Western made in Hollywood The Whites are Evil like in the DEFA Indian Westerns and Elvis is hillarious as Man between Two Fires Cinematography is excellent
