A storm is heading to the city, and with it comes another occurrence so destructive, it vows to bring down everything it touches. A crew of seasoned criminals led by the notorious Nam (Hu Jun), armed with high-powered weapons, pulls off another smooth and violent armored car heist in broad daylight in a crowded street. Whoever tries to get in their way, they will show no mercy. This puts the police force to shame and humiliation. A hardboiled senior police inspector Lui (Andy Lau), hot on the trails of Nam and his tight crew, determines to put an end to this madness that causes the lives of innocent people. But he soon comes face to face with the cruel reality that the usual police tactics are too futile to send these armed thieves behind bars. Extreme crime requires extreme justice, even if it means crossing his moral line. Tou (Lam Ka Tung), an ex-con desperate to leave his criminal past behind, volunteers to be Lui's snitch in exchange for a fresh start with his girlfriend Bing (Yao Chen). But little does he know what hellish situation he's getting himself into.

Examiner.comChris SawinWhile the action of Firestorm is thrilling, the weak ending and inability to follow through with its potentially promising story leaves the film feeling inadequate.
User ReviewLee WJust a fun movie. The last half hour was crazy and completely worth it. Have some fun with it.
User ReviewDailiesel MWOW THIS IS AMAZING GREAT MOVIE, GOOD JOB..VERY GOOD DRAMA AND ACTION..ð~ð~ð~ð~ð~ð~
User ReviewAmy HAction packed and famous actors galore! But the story is a it hard to believe. It's like an Asian version of Die Hard. Movie is ok
User ReviewChangren YAn impressive directorial debut for screenwriter Alan Yuen. Some plot elements are melodramatic and the CGI isn't the best. Lots of guns and explosions. Loved the ending. Fans of Lau and heroic bloodshed won't be disappointed.
User ReviewTed NThink Heat, turned up to "11". Throw in a little Point Break, and you got this Chinese action crime drama, Firestorm.
User ReviewTony DA great film with similar traits between movies like heat and the departed. Andy Lau is truly an action superstar!
User ReviewWS WUPDATE* Def worth a rewatch. the sub sub plot is still shaky but the overall action and the legit whole ending quarter blows away anything 80% of american action directors would even attempt. No surprise here that even a sub par through-out Hong Kong film is more entertaining, well shot, well acted, and overall more interesting then 75% of US films.
User ReviewDennis LIntense action and a great script from screenwriter Alan Yuen.
