Fat Slags charts the rise and fall of unrepentantly vulgar and crass Sandra and Tracey as they leave their North-of-England hometown of Fulchester for the bright lights of London to shag and booze their way to fame and fortune. The day they arrive, internationally-renowned billionaire Sean Cooley suffers a blow to the head; while recovering, he spots them on a popular daytime chat-show and falls in love with their larger-than-life look and approach. Determined to make them stars, he forces fashion designer Fidor Konstantin to base his next collection around them and creates a media sensation. Sandra and Tracey take the UK by storm, hitting #1 in the record charts and inadvertently winning the Turner Prize. As far as the press is concerned, fat is the new black. Throughout their journey into the world of celebrity, the girls maintain their unique, endearing vulgarity, coupled with an innocence that draws the British public to their cause. But in private, jealousy drives a wedge between Sandra and Tracey as they vie for Cooley's attentions. Only when he regains his mental faculties and turns on them do the unlikely heroines realize that friendship is the only real thing they have in the mad world they now inhabit.

| User ReviewSimon DI am still having a bloody 'ard time figuring out whether this is the worst film of all time or the best. Everything is so over the top, it has to be one of those "so bad it's good" movies, right? That's what the creators were going for, right?! Well if they were, they succeeded on many levels. But if all of the awkwardly unfunny humor, annoying accents, and irrelevant subplots were accidental, which I'm pretty sure they were, this movie is pure garbage. The people behind this film seem to think that if you take two fat leads who are oblivious to everything going on around them, you automatically have comedy gold. Sorry, Ed Bye and company, that's just not how it works. Seriously, unless you are hanging out with friends or are completely wasted, do not watch this film. You will hate every single second of it. [insert unnecessary fart noise and plastic boob flash here.] |

| User ReviewJonathan POne or two chuckles (mostly from the northern boyfriends whose accents are so thick you can't understand them). But mostly just two actresses running around in fat suits making fart and poop jokes. The fact that so many famous people were involved in this mess is bewildering (did they even read the script?). Not the worst movie ever but right up there. |

| User ReviewPrincess SHuge number of celebrity appearances from Anthony "forever known as Giles" Head, Geri Halliwell, Naomi Campbell and (surprisingly) Steve Punt & Hugh Dennis of BBC Radio 4 "the Now Show" fame, I was intriguied if this would make for an entertaining romp. Calling this film horrible doesn't actually do it justice. The epically bad and horrendous gags as well as the constant repulsion you feel for the characters makes one feel like your having a migraine brought on by being exposed to some new form of biological warfare virus. It's impressive how unpleasant this film is, to the point of admiration at making something so vile and tragically put together it makes people feel physically sick and uncomfortable. There are "some" genuinely funny moments, like when one of them sits on a dog and throws it out of the window, knocking over a gardner into a wheel barrow which then inexplicably explodes for example. This is, however, almost so bad that it should come with a health warning because it makes you cringe so much and is so physically upsetting and low to view that it makes you feel like you're being assaulted. For that I give it a whole star out of some twisted respect, and the fact that part of me quite liked how much fun we had bonding over this diabolical creation. This film is like an endurance test. If you want to find out if you can hack it: be my guest. The more sensible may choose something else. |
