Filmcritic.comChristopher Nullsome over-the-top histrionics don't keep it from being worth a look
User ReviewPrivate Unick nolte is a king, this movie is the evidence!
User ReviewMichael Lfilm worth viewing though probably more for him than for her
User ReviewAllan CAnother fine John Milius directed old fashioned adventure film. This WWII jungle story does kind of plod at times, but there is enough to like about the film to make it well worth watching.
User ReviewMarko Sa strange spin of the apocalypse now, and the old adventure novels, that shows us the way to the primitive to avoid politics and wars of interests, and to be heroes. also, lots of mindless action takes some points of the film, but this story is well balanced.
User ReviewDavid DSomehow this film should have made me care more than it did. Imagine being lost in the jungle in the middle of wartime. Starving, going crazy, and captured by cannibals. Finally, you wind up king of the tribe, and it's the best thing that could have ever happened to you! While Nick Nolte looked the part, his performance failed to inspire as perhaps it should have. The fault may also lie with the flat, uninspired direction. But at least we have a clue as to where Christian Bale got his Batman voice.
