Set in a dirt-poor neighborhood in the fictional city of San Lovisa, Texas, EvenHand tells the story of two very different cops, working together for the first time. Rob Francis, recently divorced, finds the adjustment from his previous assignment in "Sleepytown" difficult. With his new partner, the volatile Ted Morning, he spends his days breaking up domestic disputes and attempting to make sense of a parade of lowlifes, firebugs and junkies. Morning is the original Texas cowboy, all muscle and bravado: arrest 'em first, ask questions later. The characters and events in EvenHand subtly intertwine until Francis and Morning must both face the consequences of their very different approaches to the job. Filmed on location in San Antonio, Texas, EvenHand is a police story, but it's not about car chases or shoot-outs. It's about two cops struggling to survive in a world where, without warning, numbing routine can give way to primal fear.

eFilmCritic.comScott WeinbergA young cop in a new setting; a cynical veteran is his new partner. Think you've seen this flick already? Nope.
User ReviewPip NOne of the few films in an overcrowded genre to realistically and artfully portray what it's like to be a cop. A slow start, but your patience will be rewarded. Excellent performances across the boards, especially the two leads, Bill Sage & Bill Dawes. The ending is a shocker, but on reflection, it all makes sense.
User ReviewJackie NIt's amazingness is only pushed into the realm of the unbelieveably good by the soundtrack.
User ReviewPrivate UGood one! Hard to find, but so very good!
User ReviewRyan SA great cop film. It is a simple story of two partners, but it feels quite realistic because of the way in which it is filmed with little Hollywood flair. Solid acting and great character development really make this one to see.
User Reviewpeter kBetter than I was expecting. The actors develop their opposite characters nicely and their interation with opposing viewpoints is interesting. They are very real characters. The film seems just a series of various stories strung together by the two main leads, but the last 1/4 of the film pulls it all together nicely.

User ReviewLee MThis is a great "drink beer and watch a movie" flick. Good quality acting, touching moment, and humor. Makes you want to be "one of those cops"
User ReviewBrody MNot as good as the description on the back of the DVD case
