Leave your thoughts about Elizabeth Blue.
The Film StageJared MobarakIt can be a grueling experience considering the heavy subject matter, but there’s enough optimism to stave off boredom.
FanboyNation.comSean MulvihillAnd yet there's always a feeling that something is off in Elizabeth Blue. Some aspects are almost too idyllic and leave the audience asking certain questions that only grow more and more as the film progresses.
Los Angeles TimesKatie WalshThe film clearly comes from a place of deep knowledge about the intricacies of schizophrenia but has an unfortunate tendency to overexplain itself.
The Young FolksNathanael HoodIt's weepy nonsense that plays up the film's worst melodramatic tendencies.
Village VoiceKristen Yoonsoo KimElizabeth inspires empathy, but it often feels like we’re being told to feel a certain way by being shown so much rather than being allowed to naturally warm up to her.
VarietyNick SchagerEmpathetic and yet ultimately too draggy to elicit much engagement with its paper-thin story, Elizabeth Blue proves at once well-intentioned and inert.
The Hollywood ReporterFrank ScheckDespite Anna Schafer’s gripping performance in the lead role, this deeply personal effort is too narratively sluggish to sustain attention.
User ReviewVincent Sjust because I'm so proud of my cast and crew! Especially my brilliant leading lady Anna Schafer! if their is one reason to check out elizabeth blue. Its because of Anna Schafers performance.
User ReviewLealey VUnbelievable portrayal by Anna Schafer. Incredibly moving glimpse into the struggle and sickness of mental illness.
User ReviewTomas KI Seen this film in Detroit this evening with my wife. She began to sob around 30 minutes in and did not stop. I have not seen her so moved since A Star is Born. we are in our 70's. My wife had a dreamt of being a filmmaker. As we know back in the 1950's that was not really an option. I commend Vincent Sabella on this beautiful film. This is what movies were. story driven by fantastic performances. Thank you Mr. Sabella for keeping cinema alive with your talent and vision, and thank you for making my wife and I feel something from a film we have not felt in a very long time. I highly recommend this film to everyone. I think their is a message for everyone in this production of fine cinema. Mazel Tov.
