Very traumatized by this scene, the boy fled and joined Pépino, a vagabond who had heard him sing and invited him to follow him to earn money by performing at fairs. He calls himself an orphan and becomes attached to this man, not without flaws, but with a big heart, adopting him as a surrogate father. After a few adventures, he will find his parents and his father back on the right track.
