From that point until the end of the flic many battles take place. This film is a masterpiece of martial arts swords-play and speaks the tune of "The Swordsman" and the "Zatoichi" films. A must see for fans of classic Asian cinema.

Chicago ReaderJ. R. JonesDirector King Hu makes kinetic use of the widescreen frame: the action is dominated by gonzo knife throwing, and arrow fire has seldom felt so lethal.
User Reviewjinsun hgood, very violent with buff girls in it. u should watch it
User ReviewSteve WFrom the open desertic landscapes, to the closed, claustrophobic space of the inn, with a Spaghetti Western heart beating, a full Tsui Hark approach toward the classic of King Hu and its themes: freedom of thought (and action) strangled by injustice at political and existential level. Virtuoso.
User ReviewGlenn GA masterpiece of the modern wuxia genre! Fun and serious in spots, quite a different film from King Hu's earlier Dragon Inn. Why can't Tsui Hark make movies like this anymore? (though Seven Swords was not horrible, I guess).
User ReviewSara KTHE GORE IS NEXT LEVEL. Learn how to skin a man without him noticing!
User ReviewHarry DI like this way better than the original - partly because of Brigitte Lin, not to mention Maggie Cheung as an anti-hero, and the silliness just makes it all the more fun.
User ReviewJustin COne of my favorite marital art action movie. Action sequences are superb.
User ReviewLouis Dreally excellent, complicated, with a funny ending. Tony Leung Ka Fai is enough for me! Also, don't miss the very young Maggie Cheung!
User ReviewBenjamin LInteresting kung fu sword movie.. Loved it.
User ReviewVivian XI am not surprize if it is considered the best martial art movie in China.
