User ReviewJamie IYou shut your face if you don't like this movie!
User ReviewCesar Sa good comedy, with Franco & Ciccio, but not a good Bava's film.
User ReviewMiss.Gory RThe sequal to 'Dr.Goldfoot and The Bikini Machine', is a hard to find, Italian only, Low quality, comedic flop, unfortunately, as they employed 2 of Italy's leading comics, (replacing previous gagsmen, Frankie Avalon and Dwayne Hickman) with Franco Franchi & Ciccio Ingrassia, (and if you know nothing about Italian Comedy, these names, and thier 'shtick' is quite lame, imo) However, Vincent Price is back, and tries dearly to save this one, but it just doesn't work, (Have you ever heard Vinnie dubbed in Italian???) Well, as far as my collection goes, I don't let it stop me, and if you are a real collector such as myself, you will want to own this...Otherwise? I really wouldnt bother... Gorewhore Out.
| User ReviewAj VAn Italian comedy spoof of the then popular James Bond "Goldfinger", veteran horror actor Vincent Price is Dr. Goldfoot. While most today will find this barely comedy, it may be amusing today for its retro costuming and sets. Obviously targeted at teen and pre-teen audiences and very naive adults. Released a year after the first Goldfoot film (Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine), using teen singing idols of the day seems to be the draw for these hopelessly moronic films. The targeted audience must have been teens in both movies. Why Vincent Price got cast in the lead role is a curiosity. Price had both comedy and horror in his career. The plot is about as lame as the acting. The english voice overs are awkward as the supporting cast is sometimes Italian. Dr. Goldfoot, who looks like the N.A.T.O. supreme commander, plans to assume his role to take over the military organiziation. Goldfoot manufactures robot beauties that blow up those victims he chooses. NATO's top generals are all eliminated through use of the girls. Dr. Goldfoot calmly explains all his plans directly to the audience as if off camera. The ultimate goal of Goldfoot is to instigate a war between the superpowers leaving him alone to rule the world. Mildly amusing and best for those that like plenty of bikini clad hot gals, recommended for Vincent Price fans or these espionage spoofs. Fabian, as Bill Dexter, then sixties teen singing idol in the U.S., is an agent after Goldfoot. CAST Laura Antonelli Fabian (60's American teen idol singer) Franco Franchi Ciccio Ingrassia Vincent Price (veteran horror, now comic actor) Crew Director: Mario Bava Composer: Les Baxter Screenplay: Robert Kaufman Producer: Louis M. | User ReviewGreg WA silly sequel with a little too much Hollywood thrown in. |
User ReviewCJ CVPrice & Fabian are great, but they should have lost the Italians. See the orig DR. GOLDFOOT.
User ReviewWednesday TKind of lacking sequel but the madcap insanity of the first is still present.
User ReviewAllan CThis was one of the few Mario Bava films I had not seen and I now know why this one has never gotten a proper video release. This was by far the the most disappointing of his films, although I did read that he tried to get out of making this film but was contractually obligated, so his heart must not have been in this one. Ironically, although this is likely Bava's worst film, it was actually his most commercially successful. Only worth watching for die hard Vincent Price or Mario Bava fans.
User ReviewSam BWow. It's weird to say that DR. GOLDFOOT AND THE BIKINI MACHINE (the first movie) is a film of amazing comedic talent compared to this one. This was filled with the sort of one note jokes that Benny Hill was famous for, but did better. There were so many things that happened in this film that neither served the plot or were funny in the least. Even Vincent Price's performance, usually good for an oddball laugh, was completely unbearable. 04.06.08 52nd Film of 2008
User ReviewNicholas RIn the 60s, campy Bond spoofs were all over the place. This Italian-made sequel to an American spoof starring Vincent Price is easily one of the worst out there.
