The life of Lori Vallow from late 2017 to early 2020 is dramatized. This phase of her story begins in Chandler, Arizona in the midst of her marriage to Charles Vallow, her fourth husband, they living with teenage Tylee Ryan, Lori's biological daughter with her third husband, Joseph Ryan, and adolescent Joshua Vallow - J.J. - biologically Charles' great-nephew who they adopted and who had been diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum. Their life had always been centered on Lori's long held Mormon beliefs, including the Second Coming of Christ and with it ultimate bliss, they primarily associating with like minded people, including Lori's niece Lanie Boudreaux, friend Melanie Gibb, and Lori's biological brother, Alex Cox who Lori had always felt was her ultimate protector on Earth. With all the pain that she had endured in her life, Lori was worried that it was not in God's plan to have her as among the chosen few to make it into that Second Coming. That worry was heightened when Lori became aware of the writings of Chad Daybell who claims to have had signs not only as to that imminent Second Coming but also the death and destruction preceding it, i.e. the apocalypse. There was an immediate emotional and physical attraction between Lori and Chad upon meeting, Lori moving the family to Rexburg, Idaho so that she could be closer to already married Chad. In Lori's needs, they went on a joint mission to ensure their passage into the Second Coming, and to be together now, which, on this Earth, entailed getting rid of the humans in their lives that have been inhabited by demons as seen in visions by Chad.
