User ReviewJeffrey CClassic Japanese romance, but you will never be desensitized for shedding tears.
User ReviewWilliam Hwhere is the lighthouse? ......maybe he was still port it.
User ReviewFitri Ha lovey dovey kind of story. but it's rainy season lately and this movie kinda suited the mood.
User Reviewthomas fFirst love, long distance relationship, love won/love lost; this has it all. A truly simplistic film, but that is what makes it so marvelous. Yui Aragaki is adorable to watch on screen, and really hits it off with co-star Tôma Ikuta. Mix in the brilliant chemistry with some gorgeous on-location shots (in Canada, Japan, and America) and surprisingly some hefty life questions, this would have to be one of the better feel-good love stories I have watched in quite a long while.
User ReviewChanin HThere are many reasons why ã?ããã,ºã, is considered a must-see film. 1. It is directed by Nobuhiro Doi, director of great romance films and series such as Be With You and Nada Sou Sou. 2. It is starred by Ikuta Toma, Aragaki Yui, and Mukai Osamu. OMG!!! >0< 3. It is based on the most beautiful song of the same name by Hitoto You. ... and so on. I almost screamed out of joy when knowing that it would be released in Thailand at Apex and House cinemas and managed to get some tickets to the Thailand film premiere at last. Hanamizuki tells a tear-jerking love story similar to Be With You and Nada Sou Sou (but not as much tear-jerking as the two Doi's previous films). The film is sad, but I found it encouraging rather than depressing. Kind of encouraging people to be true to love. Toma, Gakky, and Osamu have all delivered such great performances. So talented and natural as they are, fans will not be disappointed. The scenery in the film were also very well-chosen. On the other hand, the plot of the film is a bit too 'soap opera' and has pulled down the film somewhat, pity. All in all, the film is definitely worth watching for the brilliant Toma & Gakky, just don't expect too much of the plot. ^^ *Notice* Please continue watching the end credits to see various nice pics.
User ReviewYuuka TWatched it because all my friends loved it and it was showing for free. It was okay because you knew how every pairing was going to turn out and you would probably cry (at the dead father if not the love stories) if you weren`t so jaded. Like a lot of romance movies, pleasant but fanciful and not very impactful.
User ReviewWinsome L50% of the movie time was spent on elaborating the "background" - how they fall in love, their so-called long distance love (it's only a matter of Hokkaido and Tokyo), and finally, their stupid separation, and finally get back together and become happily ever after. In short, it's a very old-schooled love story. Very interesting is that the girl has to go to university to study Englsih and work abroad with good spoken English, but the high-school graduated "fisherman" (no-offend) can easily communicate with the coffer shop owner somewhere in Nova Scotia IN ENGLISH - why bother going to university - and especially it's talking about Waseda~!!! Sad to see Yakushimaru Horoko gets so old - she looks like a grandma rather than a mom. See Koizumi Kyoto in another movie recently, she is still so young~ God~ Time kills a woman~ Oh~ Perhaps the target audience are youngsters, the movie may be appealing to them, but not younger (when they don't know what love is) nor older (that they know love is not everything). It's a waste to have Hokkaido as the spot as they only focus on a small fish village - then why not other more inland and remote places to make the story more convincing? But anyways, it's OK to be a time-killer as "Sae" is preety, and "Kouhei" is handsome.
User ReviewAtsushi Oã?è±æ°´æ¨ã'- what can i say.... a classic Japanese slow tempo Love story.
User ReviewAngelica SNot a full satisfying ending, but still worth watching. I like the conflict and we can call it a "triangle love", maybe?
User ReviewKenneth YReally a very normal normal & again normal love story...
