Giulio's girlfriend is disgusted with his voyeurism, but after a murder occurs, Giulio is convinced that two relative strangers, just as in Hitchcock and Highsmith's "Strangers in a Train," have agreed to murder each other's bête noir. He follows his suspects, ends up with an intruder and a broken foot, and may be in real danger. Is he more than a peeping Tom?

DVD Review - 6/10 by Felix Gonzalez Jr.With the film's taut suspense, witty humor, and alluring leading ladies, I'm sure Hitchcock would bestow his dry approval.
Cinefantastique - 5/10 by Steve BiodrowskiWith this unambitious but entertaining giallo, Dario Argento proves he can still thrill an audience.
User Review - 8/10 by Heather HSorry it's been such a long time between entries. We're currently experiencing monetary difficulties, so cannot afford the internet at home. It'll be back soon, and I will begin to blog every movie we watch. We've been watching a lot of movies lately, since the cable is link up with the internet. This one was rented by my best friend, Marc (popicn on RT), who is a HUGE Dario Argento fan. He has made me a fan as well, so I was excited to see a new Argento film. And I've liked every Hitchcock movie I've seen, so how could we go wrong? I like how the movie itself was a play on Hitchcock's Rear Window, and the murderer bases the murders on Hitchcock's Strangers on a Train. I've never seen Strangers on a Train, but now I know why that Billy Crystal movie was called Throw Momma from the Train. It never made any sense to me when a train was never involved. I'm sure they explained in the movie, but that was years ago. It's basically criss-cross. You kill the person I hate, while I have a firm alibi, and I will kill the person you hate, while you have an alibi. I guess it could work if the two people who agree to do this are never linked. But our hero sees what's going on via his rear window. I love how Argento made many layers of Hitchcock work well without feeling like he's stretching it. And, of course, the murders are beautiful. Argento has a true gift of capturing a murder so it's brutal, truthful but without any extra gore. I loved it!! -Heather
User Review - 8/10 by Mariana AI caught this film in the middle of the night and it ended about an hour ago. It was interesting and held my attention well enough at the start to keep me seated through the rest of it, although, I still don't get the correlation between the opening scene, the main story, and the final scene, unless they are simply to reinforce the voyeur-like curiosity that causes Giulio to be caught up in the whole ordeal next door. The main character reminds me a lot of Ezra Godden's Paul in Dagon... kind of a clumsy, inept, nerdy type with a knack for trouble, not to mention a super cute girlfriend. I am not familiar with director Argento, so I had no expectations for anything, perhaps that is why some others on here gave a low score, expecting more blood and action that apparently he is known for. I actually prefer the more subtle and what I consider realistic screenplay, and thought the underlying suspense quite effective. I'm not sure if I would call Giulio a "voyeur" per se, since he makes very little effort to conceal himself when observing others. He's either a really terrible one, or it's simply that it's difficult not to notice others putting themselves on display right outside your window, as I saw the case to be. Anyway, interesting movie, cute girls, intriguing plot, gets a thumb's up in my book and which I plan to add to my collection at some point.
User Review - 8/10 by Krista BA surprisingly solid piece of later day Argento. While it isn't much more than an homage to Hitchcock (big surprise, many of the elements were taken from his movies such as Rear Window, Strangers on a Train, Dial "M" for Murder), it feels very much like early animal trilogy era Argento with a much lighter tone. Very playful and fun to watch. Oh, and the women are all drop dead gorgeous. Check it out.
User Review - 8/10 by James VIf you love Hitchcock like I do you'll love this movie. The movie just builds and builds and builds all the way to the end. Great Flix. and ps ASIA ARgento is flipping hot...No, she is not in this movie but oh wow.. she's smoking
User Review - 8/10 by Private UArgento's homage to Hitchcock. Fantastic. Also thrown in, Scarlet Diva in the background and references to Blue Velvet and Eraserhead; two great David Lynch films.
User Review - 8/10 by Michael OA very entertaining film (even if the protagonist is remarkably stupid), it is a fitting tribute to Hitchcock. One of the better Argento films that I've seen.
User Review - 8/10 by Matt MA vicious and entertaining little horror film.
User Review - 6/10 by Mark DA good little TV movie from the master. Basically he's took Hitchcock's best film moments and stuck them together, however with the Argento touch he pulls off a half decent effort. Worth a watch
