Full Plot Details

Soichi Negishi moved to Tokyo to chase his dream of becoming a musician playing stylish, Swedish-style pop. Instead, he finds himself leading the death metal band Detroit Metal City, or DMC, as the costumed and grotesquely made-up "demon emperor" Johannes Krauser II. Although he hates the role and the things he has to do as a member of the band, he has a definite talent for it. Adapted from the hit Japanese comic book by Kiminori Wakasugi, the movie follows Negishi's antics as he tries to reconcile the two very different sides of his life and find out what it really means to achieve his dream.

User Review - 10/10 by janine eThis is really an unexpectable but interesting role of him!Imagine him by night with a geisha-like make up,a weird costume with a cape,a not so blonde wig(definitely a death metal rockstar look) screaming a song with lyrics "I'M A TERRORIST FROM HELL!YESTERDAY I RAPED MY MOTHER!TODAY I SLASH MY FATHER!I HAVE NO MOTHER OR FATHER BECAUSE I KILL THEM ALL!I HAVE NO FRIENDS OR LOVER BECAUSE I KILL THEM ALL!".Moreover by day,he definitely looks like a weirdo with a mushroom cut(LMAO!!!) and an accoustic guitar!Unbelievable right?But hell yeah,believe me he did all these things in this movie.

User Review - 10/10 by Chris CIt just makes me laugh out loud. It is touching warming with fantasy style presentation. Matsuyama's acting is tremendously funny. The opening scene is so beautifully pictured. It is a picture describing the contradiction in a teenager's heart: I want to be famous... but not in this disgusting way. If you can be famous in such a way will you continue to do it? If yes, why? The film didn't use a blue tone to describe the situation. Instead it used a light comedy tone which I admired most: always look on the bright side of life. The relationship between mum and Soichi Negishi is so touching. Masami Nagasawa did a great job to be Soichi's love angel.
