The LensAndrew WyattThe expected slurry of chintzy re-creations, leading interview questions, and endless, tedious footage that doesn't reveal much of anything.
Cinemaphile.orgDavid KeyesFashioned from a scorching creative eagerness that seems held back unnecessarily by a fear of visual or thematic excess.
The Hollywood ReporterJohn DeForeThough the story itself contains enough to intrigue a skeptic, Bagans' tendency to tart things up with horror-movie techniques makes this a movie to scare true believers, not win new ones over.
RogerEbert.comNick AllenIt's telling that Demon House features a real-life exorcism, but it feels more superficial than supernatural.
Los Angeles TimesNoel MurrayTurning this movie off before it starts is actually a good idea: not because it's dangerous, but because it's lousy.
Film PulseAdam PattersonBagans' handling of this information turns what could be an interesting exploration of a strange phenomenon into a three-ring circus.
The Young FolksNathanael HoodDemon House is patent balderdash; it's paranormal snake-oil salesmanship that degrades the real life unfortunates involved in the case.
User ReviewReina JI have waited a very long time for this. Not only for this documentary, but for Zak to make his own! Something that was his and his alone! I have waited for this day a very very long time! I have always known he could do it and have waited for this day, again, a very very long time! I not only want people to see this, but I also want people to look at every part of the movie from a Director perspective! I want you to see the pride he puts into this and the hard work and long hours that went into this film. Film making may look easy, but it's not and I know a good film when I see one! This is one of the best documentaries ever made! Oscar worthy...perhaps. It should at least be nominated! I know one day he will be a great and remembered Director! I am so happy for him that he has been able to do this and I hope all of you pay attention as I have and you will see!!! That being said, it was put together perfectly! He showed every step from beginning to end and then stayed in the house alone to finish it off! It was so interesting and scary! By 21 mins I had to push pause! This documentary will teach you that evil is real, demonic possession is real and people need help!! Good job Zak!!
User ReviewNilufer RWas interesting and somewhat disturbing if it is true what has happened to the various people who were apart of the filming. Funny how those who are so-called skeptics, managed to watch the film, why bother if you truly are skeptical? Nevertheless, I enjoyed the documentary.
User ReviewRyan KIf You're a believer in the after life or heaven and hell, this is a documentary you will want to see. You will "get" what people experienced and now have to live with because of it. Everyone else... why did you go to see this movie if you're such nonbelievers? How about go into any house that is rumored to be haunted and document what you see? This is what zak bagans did.... and what you're obviously too afraid to do. Maybe you're afraid we will give your document a bad review...huh?
