User Review - 10/10 by Elissa EThis film is kick ass!! Talk about independent film-making at its very best!
User Review - 10/10 by Elissa BI'm so tired of movies with no story attached, or script rather. I'm sure many would agree that today's horrors, and movies in general, just aren't what they used to be. In fact, as of late, most horrors have been very disappointing (with a few exceptions of course). Usually, the director will throw in countless cheap scares to give us an illusion of terror and yeah, I'll get scared.. for about a second! Lame. Deadfall Trail has brought something real back to the screen. A very quiet beginning, and we are not quite sure when the story is going to dive into the horror! Probably because I am feeling so conditioned to the new formula of be.scared.every.second. :O FAVORITES: --Refreshing adventure born from the characters; everything in this movie happens as consequence of the characters' choices, actions or the lack thereof. In other words, its never "happenstance" or "movie magic." Everythings stems from reason or.. at least the characters' reasoning. VERY intense!! --Dynamics characters that are true to themselves. They never make decisions just so a movie can happen. And as different as they are from each other, they hardly balance each other. This all makes for a fantastic realism in a very unfeigned world. --Despite its "realism" as I've been emphasizing, the director still recognizes that this is a movie, and there are a couple of real trippy scenes--very called for though. Want to see some awesome stop-motion? Script: Yeah, it goes full circle, and makes you think and all that great stuff.. But what I found interesting was that it felt as though it was written by a screenwriter. Weird huh? Haven't seen those guys and gals in the credits for a while. Recommendations: See the movie. I could talk this film all day, and if you've read this far into my review you've already wasted time you could've been watching it.
User Review - 10/10 by Edward KIt's refreshing to see a unique perspective on an outdoors-centered movie. With a hella strong storyline, brilliant direction and wonderful acting, Deadfall Trail is a must see! 3 men set off on their version of a camping trip only to face their inner-demons, their mortality and their will to survive...one another. This is psychosis in its natural state and it's scary as hell. Let's go camping.
User Review - 10/10 by Bryan FGod damn this movie is so fuckin swag. The plot is great and its really deep and meaningful. User Review - 8/10 by Nolan PImagine taking a 3 week survival trip with a friend and his "survivalist" buddy. That is what one city boy does. Bit talky, BUT the suspense is there. Some good basic survival info that will save your life as well.
User Review - 6/10 by Joe HI wasn't expecting much from this movie due to the fact that I got it in a 8 movie collection and the first movie I watched in the set was a big o' fat dud Ring rip off from Australia. The soundtrack doesn't fit very well and not great acting but I liked the cinematography and surreal scenes of the Julian character losing it. All in all okay movie.
User Review - 6/10 by Kevin GI definitely think this movie at least deserves a watch if you like suspense and good atmosphere. The movie itself doesn't really go very far but there are some shocking scenes that are a nice change to the plot.
User Review - 4/10 by bill bbored...bored..bored. not creepy at all... its not a horror film, its a wanna be horror film. expect an adventure movie with a lot of survivor elements. not enough...
User Review - 4/10 by Daniel Ltwo "dudes" and a sociopath go on a survivalist nature walk where they attempt to construct a wrecking ball out of wood, which then somehow falls on and impales one of the dudes. The dude then is somehow able to survive for three days with a giant branch sticking out of his chest. That's about it. Oh wait, the sociopath gets high on peyote and frollicks through the forest in a brief and pointless scene. [sarcasm]Great movie[/sarcasm].
User Review - 4/10 by Daniel GI hate when the 1st half of the movie ends up being soooo much better than the 2nd half. Well shot in moments, but ultimately pointless and utterly forgettable.
