PopMattersErich KuerstenFor Bava as for Daibolik, aesthetic beauty and tactile sensation trump emotional connection and spiritual depth.
Film School RejectsBrian SalisburyAn amalgamation of the first six James Bond films had a love child with the Batman television series.
Mountain Xpress (Asheville, NC)Ken HankeWay too much like something left over from the Adam West Batman series to impress me the way it was supposed to.
Ozus' World Movie ReviewsDennis SchwartzStylish lightweight silly tongue-in-cheek B movie caper film.
Chicago Sun-TimesRoger EbertAlthough it's too long and eventually loses track of Itself, Danger: Diabolik is very nearly the movie Barbarella should have been.
CinefantastiqueSteve Biodrowski... one of the best films from the late Italian director Mario Bava
User ReviewTom BI just saw this film and I love it more than words can articulate. Faithful to the source material and so awesome that it inspired a Beastie Boys video, this is simply a must-see. Looks like most people don't understand this film, but it works on absolutely every level that its meant to. It's not camp, it's not Flint (though I'm a fan a fan of the Flint films too), it's Fumetti come to life and so much more. Superb.
User ReviewMike FVery kitch and very stylish at the same time.
User ReviewDominic PI love showing this movie to people who haven't seen it. The Ennio Morricone score alone is enough to make it worth a watch! Its kind of like watching a live action cartoon. Great cast, Terry Thomas is hysterical!
User ReviewGreg NI'm still pretty sure this is how my life was supposed to turn out and didn't. I'm also still pretty sure that I could make for an awesome supervillain if given the chance but I understand that's more of a take than a give. Either way, how bout them eyebrows.
