User Review - 10/10 by Tim BDirected by Ruggiero Deodato, I actually liked this better than Cannibal Holocaust since he had a little more money that resulted in better gore FX. Jungle action/exploitation mayhem starring Richard Lynch, also with Michael Berryman and a sweaty, coked-out Willie Aames. Check it out sickos!!
User Review - 10/10 by Tico PTHEY HAVE FOUND OUT THE TRUTH NOW THEY MUST TELL THE WORLD! 100% my all time favorite action movie its violence but Italian style. Cut and run is no doubt the strangest action movie I have ever seen it's a mix off all sorts of genres but I will get into that later. Ruggero Deodato created the most controversial movie ever made a cannibal holocaust witch was banned in over 50 countries worldwide making it the most heavily banned film ever made. Before that he created a shocker called last cannibal world in were a group of oil workers get trapped and are captured by a cannibal tribe. Now Ruggero Deodato with financial backing from New World Pictures and costing a staggering more then $15 million dollars he crated cut and run. Somewhere in South America a major drug operation is underway with people already packing it and starting to move it then out of the water a skilled white assassin kills more then 3 people and he is leading a cannibalistic native tribe to advance on the area. Within no time all the people are killed and the assassin Quecho sees 2 people watching from a plane in a harry he leaves. The tribe he was with beings to tear at the rest of the living people and eat them. Back in Miami a reporter and he cameraman have a major scoop that a women in back backing drugs to her boyfriend and stake out the house knowing they can get high ratings from an FBI arrest. But after some time of watching they enter the house only to find the dealers dead and the women having her insides out all over the place but they find a photo of that looked like the killer. Not long after they leave fran (the reporter) has a felling she knows the man in the photo and not long after they find out the day before the Johns Town Massacre the man in the photo had major ties to Jim Jones and his town. The reporter and her camera man both head off to the jungle because they might have the scoop of the century about a major drug operation and witch an assassin is trying to get everything for himself. But like I said before it's really cool because it's a mix off all genres not just action and adventure such as -Drug running and operations -Cannibal films -Splatter films -Horror -Mondo films What I love about the movie is just the story epic from start to finish it has everything an action film could need. -Major shootouts -assassins -Cannibal tribes -Amazingly epic explosions -Awesome helicopter gun fire on the action scenes -And most of all an epic ending The acting its self is extremely good for an Italian film this is rare but all cast and crew were English including its lead Michael Berryman we know him from the hills have eyes. With his deformed body like shape witch makes him the perfect villain. The dubbing was extremely good I am only saying this because I am not sure weather there were Italian stars or Ruggero just wanted everyone to be English. The special effects are really good the kill scenes are just epic the special effects are everything you would see in an action film and of course Ruggero famous trademark realistic and explicit gore. Film has a great soundtrack and awesome scenery shots of the jungles and epic sets to destroy. Some of my favourite death scenes are. -Quecho throws the guard off the edge and gets impaled - Quecho guts the stabs in the neck a guard and uses his gun to shot everyone in the room -They running throw the jungle and one of the native's hits there own trap and spicks hit him in the gut. The more he pulls the more organs fall out. Overall all I can say is this is my all time favourite action film and if you have Netflix ORDER IT you wont be disappointed. My final verdict highly FUCKING recommended.
User Review - 8/10 by DC FThe late, lovely Lisa Blount is a reporter who tracks down a drug cartel run by South American natives and their Colonel Kurtz-like leader (the reliable Richard Lynch). Flesh-ripping, head-chopping carnage and sleaze ensues. Ruggero Deodato's jungle adventure is relatively restrained compared to his "Cannibal Holocaust", the notoriously nasty last word on tropical tastelessness which subtly (!) sends up the cannibalistic news media. "Cut and Run" revisits that commentary, but with stronger production values. While you can't get more dubious than an ultra-violent exploitation flick that indicts media exploitation of violence, it's an effective and tightly-directed thriller. Look for future "ER" star Eriq La Salle as a pimp!
User Review - 8/10 by Juuso LOk, the plot might not make lot of sense. But then again, who would really expect it to make? Loopholes and general weaknesses of the story are neatly covered up by that well done directing by the maestro, Deodato. Cut and Run moves forward like a piece of shrapnel in your ass! A total, violent, jungle extravaganza. And I'm talking about unCut and Run of course - don't waste your time, or money, on short versions. In addition, there is a cool cast (Richard Lynch, Michael Berryman, Eriq La Salle etc.) and that very atmospheric score by Simonetti. With tighter plot this would be 5/5, but even now this is a way better movie than Cannibal Holocaust.
User Review - 8/10 by Tomas JThe 80's expression of evil and violence ruled!
User Review - 8/10 by Dustin RDeodato's awesome jungle adventure with more evil media tones. Michael Berryman kills a bunch of people, and lots of explosions and death. It rules.
User Review - 6/10 by Brian FDeaodato, director of that cinematic illness Cannibal Holocaust, creates an uneven jungle thriller that, however, deliver the violence (at least, in the *uncut* version, now available on DVD.)
User Review - 6/10 by Ville PRuggero "Cannibal Holocaust" Deodato made this as a part of his jungle series and it's a quite mixed bag. There are reporters (Lisa Blount and Leonard Mann) looking for the son (Willie Aames) of some executives (Righard Bright & Karen Black). Also there is a drug war going on between dealers and Jonestown surviving colonel (creepy Richard Lynch and his henchman Michael Berryman from Hills Have Eyes) and the son is on the middle of it. The war escalates to US also, where drug dealer (Eriq La Salle) is trying to get information to Bright. Nicely photographed in the jungle and some good action moments. There is a little gore here, but jungle trap, where the victim is cut in half in quite a sight.
User Review - 6/10 by Michael CA crazy, uneven jungle adventure, that is well shot, but let down by creative insecurities and some woeful editing. It's also stuck in a limbo between the trappings of the crew, and their exploitation film background, and the somewhat more upmarket American cast members. It leads to wildly inconsistent results, that combine tack with the odd flash of class. Genuinely odd.
User Review - 6/10 by Bill BA surprisingly nasty little exploitation flick, I went into this expecting some shoot-em up type action, instead I got some brutal violence and a grim little story set in the jungle reminiscent of Apocalypse Now. Worth a look, but probably not for the faint of heart.
