After her fiancé' forgot a few documents at home, Claire Winslow goes to Switzerland in order to deliver them to him. When she arrives, however, she discovers that he is not there, and that he went to El Coronado, a central American country on the verge of a revolution. She goes there, and teams up Arnet McClure, a TV reporter who is secretly assisting the rebels with arms from the US government, who wants to bring down the rule of President Ramos.... | User ReviewMaurus LOk, low budget Indiana Jones-clone. Basic story, little underdeveloped maybe. Acting wasn't anything great, passable. But effects were nice, side of those obvious cgi green screen shots. At times, whole movie felt like a demo-tape for some effects house. But effects were nice, for example, this movie has some of the nicest shost of tank "disposal" I've seen. Sure, those are quick shots, but still. Nice way to spend an evening, lasting under 90 minutes. Nothing special, but not so bad either. Not bad effort for straight-to-video movie. |

| User ReviewDaniel AThis movie was all over the place and I don't mean that in a good way. This film tries to do everything all at once and fails quite badly at all of it. The story has tons of holes all over the place and the script has the characters choosing stupid decisions that don't make a whole lot of sense. There are many plot points that this movie introduces that got my attention at first, but imagine my disappointment when the writers forget all about those story arcs that they created earlier and fail to give them any kind of conclusion. The action is laughably bad for the most part as well because of the stupid characters in the film. Also there were a few times that I couldn't help but laugh at how silly some of the action parts were due to just how unrealistic it all was. If this film was supposed to be an action/comedy, then it also fails in that area due to unfunny jokes even when they tried. Believe me, the most humor I got from this film was from areas where it was purely unintentional. I'm giving this film 2 stars and not lower because of all it's ridiculousness. This film can be entertaining at times because of how awful it all is. I've seen worse films, believe me. This one doesn't quite go into the "unbearable" category, however it does trend just slightly above that line for me. Beware of this one. It could end up being a pure waste of time for you. |
| User ReviewAlan CPainless "Romancing The Stone" romp for the noughties. Some nice sequences and some just plain silly. Cost a quid from Tesco so in no real position to complain! Rated PG yet contains swearing in Spanish - not brilliant if you have bilingual kids! So thanks a lot BBFC - great f***ing job! |

The acting, the storyline build up and everything else is total crap. A perfect example on the fact that a big budget doesn't automatically mean a great movie. Hallmark in a nutshell. |
