Bruce adopts an orphan girl, and then, sixteen years later, his real daughter, now motherless and unaware that her father lives there, returns to his town as a teacher. Bruce's adopted daughter learns the true identity of the new teacher but keeps it from Bruce because she is afraid of losing his love. Meanwhile, Bruce counsels a husband who is repeating his mistake of making a drudge of his wife, and his advice saves the marriage. Then, as a reward for her father's kindness towards the couple, Bruce's adopted daughter reunites him with his real one.
