She is always protecting herself, and she is always haunted by thoughts, never letting herself be exposed or show any weakness. Caterina, on the other hand, is pure craziness. She is almost deaf, so since she was a child has developed all her other senses. She can see what others cannot and believes what everyone else doesn't She tries to communicate with aliens as she believes that she is not deaf, but simply her hearing is synced with the wrong planet. Constantly divided and aggressive towards one another, fueled by the desire to the escape reality that made them who they are, after another dangerous and psychotic episode of their mother, they are taken by the social services and given to the care of Ines' father, the only living relative who is able to host them. That's how they find themselves in a space far too small to take care of their own sense of self, the SAE, a housing emergency complex setting before was a lieval town, now it's the gathering of yellow and brown houses with a rigid geometry that mirrors a dystopian reality. What seems ordinary, it's chaos, what seems dean is sick, dirt. The two sisters, forced to live in a decaying community, re-discover a strong bond never explored before with their grandfather who becomes an instrument of redemption and escape.
