Movie Reviews

The New York Review of Books - 6/10 by Robert MazzoccoAlternately garrulous, sparse, naïve, sardonic, clumsy, clever, intolerably sad, rawly funny.
PopMatters - 6/10 by John G. NettlesCiao! Manhattan is ultimately a testament to the odd, elastic nature of the '60s.
DVDLaser - 0/10 by Douglas PrattWhether [Edie Sedgwick] is acting or stoned-for-real with a model's instincts propping her up, her performance is wonderful, highly amusing at all the right moments, yet melancholy in a way which is free of self-pity.
User Review - 10/10 by Susan BI was mesmerized by Butch, who was played by Wesley Hayes, but I can find absolutely no information on him from that movie on. He did a tremendous job as the naive but willing youngster brought into all the craziness that was Edie. What happened to him?
User Review - 10/10 by Wrik SDisturbing and wonderful. This is classic Pop culture, in all it's cruelty.
User Review - 10/10 by Ewa UVery sad, eerie, yet touching movie/documentary on the last years of Edie Sedgwick.
User Review - 10/10 by Jobert BBrilliant, tragic and amazing. It's a bit complicated for me to explain the personal reasons for liking it so much, but it was leaps and bounds beyond it's time.
User Review - 10/10 by Lupe Tactually, Greg, the title was the original title when it was first being filmed in 1967.
User Review - 10/10 by Kallen FDefinitely watch the extra footage and director's commentary. Also note that Edie is wearing the cross at the beginning of the film. That makes the whole thing really trippy. Love the old black and white shots from the Silver Sixties days. Hate they lost the sound reel, but glad they found the footage. The "medium convention", with Allen Ginsberg wandering around naked and chanting with mala beads, and all these crazy fucked up people kind of not sure what to do was my favorite part (part of the extras).
User Review - 10/10 by Courtney PSo trippy but great to watch while high, especially when you can identify with the drugs she talks about
