"Choosing Signs" is a multi-award-winning comedy set in Ireland during the relatively recent economic boom known as the Celtic Tiger. It is foremost a love story between a down-to-earth Irishman and an up-in-the-air American who tries to evoke the powers of the Universe to help her make important life decisions. These perceived cosmic signs lead Jennifer across the Atlantic, where she meets Eamon, an affable Irishman whose beliefs are firmly rooted in the physical world. Although the couple's ultimate union seems destined from their very first connection, their hopes of fulfilling their collective desire to be together become stifled by what may or may not be signs from the Universe. Coupled with these challenges is the responsibility that Jennifer holds toward her mentally-ill brother, as well as a commitment she has made to marry a man who is obsessed with capitalizing on the sudden demand for housing created by immigrants drawn to Ireland by its unprecedented economic growth. One such immigrant is a Russian housekeeper named Svetlana, whose no-nonsense attitude and unabashed honesty set in motion drastic changes that cause each of the characters to not only reconfigure their lives, but to also question their steadfast beliefs.

| User ReviewDerry OLoved this comedy. Really liked the characters. Brilliantly shot, the acting is great, the humor had me hooked I wanted to watch it again and again. Brilliant indie comedy. If you like light humor about this sorta nutty relationship, you'll love it. Can't miss out on this movie I'm telling all my friends! Love it! |
