Full Plot Details

For forty years, Charles Manson has survived most of his life in what he calls 'the hallways of the all ways,' the reform schools, jails and prisons that have been his home and tomb. His thought was born in the hole of solitary confinement, apart from time and beyond the grasp of society. In his cell, he created his own world and speaks his own language: he has concluded that there is only the mind. This DVD will relinquish to you the extreme story of the killer of all killers: Charles Manson. From convincing his followers to move into the desert to train for the apocalypse, to leading a murderous crew through a string of devilish murders, you will see and hear from Manson himself of how he created a preconceived terror based on his philosophy of life. Manson claims that the so-called 'straight' world outside of prison is but an inverted reflection of the underworld in which he has lived. To him, the reality that presidents and law-abiding citizens accept begins in the hermetic alternate universe of criminals, cons and outlaws. Much as simplistic historians have dismissed Hitler's 3rd Reich as the overcompensation of a failed artist, Manson's vision of a holy war has been generally categorized as nothing more than the jealous rage of a spurned musician.

User Review - 10/10 by Tarl WProbably the single documentary made on the subject with half a brain, this film shows the real Charles Manson, inhibited neither by crazed maniacs calling him some sort of god, nor by fools like Geraldo Rivera who brand him before the interview even begins. An insightful and well done look into the life of Manson, with lots of great footage of Spahn Ranch and other areas associated with the trial and the family.
User Review - 10/10 by Godfrey Can amazing film. the only documentary i can think of that took a look at the real manson, not the ludicrous monster idiots like bugliosi and rivera cooked up with all their media whore-mongering. also the only documentary i know of created from a pro-manson standpoint. it points the finger where it belongs: at the society that created manson, rather than manson who reacted accordingly. anyone interested in this title should look up the book The Manson File by Nikolas Schreck, the guy who directed this title.
User Review - 8/10 by Lady DThis insightful Documentary isn't quite what's expected, whilst we all know the name that is connected to some rather horific murders, the full interview explores Manson, as a person, a manipulator, a musician, from how we knew of him to what he has become up to the date of this interview. Manson is an annimated talker, who shares his philosophies and often answers questions with questions. Oddly enough some of Manson's views and thoughts will have you thinking things through and it's clear to see why he became a powerful leader to his followers and was often called a brain washer. Interesting viewing.
User Review - 8/10 by D MI liked it. No one is as loco as Manson, talking here, there and everywhere at once. Nikolas Schreck takes himself a bit to serious though .(Frickin' neo-nazi retard.) "You know, a long time ago being crazy meant something. Now everybody's crazy." //Charles Manson
User Review - 6/10 by Jimmy LCharlie, Charlie, Charlie. Charlie does what he has to do to survive. He lives the persona he needs to, to survive. Charlie has some valid points amid the theatrics. Should he be out on the streets? I don't know. Is he as big a threat as the media makes him out? No. In the end, he's human. That's what this movie shows. Is it a great film? No. The editing above everything is awful. The narration is pseudo intellectual crap, taking a few random acts and making a mountain out of a mole hill. Such as the Aug 8th opener, and the destiny of Tate and Atkins. Is Charlie the epitome of evil? Not to me. Companies that dump radioactive waste in our oceans, and pollute our air, these people who cause thousands to get sick and die are far worse then Charlie. But, they get huge bonuses, live in mansions, and are the pillars of their communities.
User Review - 6/10 by Richard RAnother movie that although the maker of the film, (a member of the church of Satan) is very sympathetic to Manson, this movie goes a long way to help us understand that this person does not deserve to be part of the populous even tho he actually didn't plunge the knife into anyone...... But the movie is still somewhat compelling....
User Review - 6/10 by Corrie FA look into the mind of Charlie Manson. The director,Nickolas Shreck,is obviously a fan of this flip-out. Nevertheless....it's still a fascinating look at Chuck's twisted philosophy.
User Review - 6/10 by Ben KCharles Manson = crazy. Although when he talks, he sounds disturbingly like George Bush. Additionally disturbing is the filmmaker's insistence that Manson somehow got a raw deal.
User Review - 4/10 by Alice Wvery monotonous narration. i'm not impressed by manson, having worked in a public aid psychiatric facility - i've seen far more interesting people... his mind is rather wild - i do like to listen to him ramble...
