Movie Reviews

New Yorker - 7/10 by Richard BrodyA disarming, disturbing, elusive, and profound meditation on personal identity.
User Review - 10/10 by Brian KI don't know about all these haters who thinks this guy needs to learn to make movies because this movie is pretty much perfect. I imagine that i'll tell people for at least the next six months that this is my favorite movie.
User Review - 10/10 by Jason TThis is the perfect example of a burried treasure of the film world. I was completely blown away by this. Wendell B. Harris Jr. gives a performance to behold and on top of that he directed it too, it's really a shame he never made another film. I could rant on and on about how great every aspect of this film is but I think it speaks for itself more than any review could. See it.
User Review - 10/10 by Brian Othe closest thing to Ralph Ellison's "Invisible Man" and Richard Wright's "The Man Who Lived Underground" to ever come to cinema. Not to mention, one of the most important black films since "Nothing But A Man."
User Review - 10/10 by Kifah FOne of the greatest debuts in Cinema history. It puts today's "independent" film culture to shame. One of the greatest unknown modern American movies.
User Review - 10/10 by Matthew RAlmost unbelievable that this was filmed in 89.
User Review - 8/10 by John MI don't know who's to blame for the fact that Wendell B. Harris, Jr. never made another movie, but even if that's Harris himself, such a person should be ashamed. A stunning debut feature that feels like the tip of an auteur's iceberg. Flawed, yes, but fascinating and well told.
User Review - 8/10 by Adam WGreat script, nice lead performance. Where did you go, Wendell?
User Review - 8/10 by Tom BWho is Wendell Harris? Is he Douglas Street? Is he me? Is he Orson Welles? He's a Beast, I tell you, a Beast!
User Review - 8/10 by Liv SRather than review this I'll just recommend it. Newly released on DVD.
