The Age (Australia)Jake WilsonRealism is not a primary concern: an element of unlikely melodrama is planted early on but not detonated until the final minute, boldly allowing the narrative to jump to a different track.
At the Movies (Australia)David StrattonNammi Le gives a really fine performance in the leading role, creating a sad yet strong and resilient character with complete conviction.
Sydney Morning HeraldSandra HallIt all adds up to a remarkably benign view of a prostitute's life, shot in a Sydney displayed to its best advantage by Kathryn Milliss's dreamy cinematography.
sbs.com.auPeter GalvinA small film made on a low budget in a style reminiscent of similarly scaled Euro and American pictures, Duigan shoots the action straightforwardly; there's nothing fancy here
At the Movies (Australia)Margaret PomeranzThere are awkwardnesses in the film that I was not quite comfortable with but at the same time I think it looks really good.
The Sunday AgeCraig MathiesonCareless Love leaves you wincing at its numerous shortcomings.
User ReviewRyan WThis is a surprisingly good account into the lives of prostitutes in Sydney
User ReviewGrant SI really enjoyed this film, the characters were easy to warm to and the cinematography was lovely to look at. The storyline, about a uni student contributing via prostitution to save the parent's home from being repossessed by the bank, is a reality for so many of the world's population, especially in the third world. It is uncomfortable to view in the context of our cushy Australian society. I especially liked the relationship between David Field's character (escort driver/security) and Ivy Mack ( best friend/escort). Thanks for this great Aussie movie!
User ReviewShane MEngaging, somewhat stilted but overall a quality film.
User ReviewRebeccah RA sad, lovely and upsetting story about a young woman who has to sell her body in order to save the family from losing their house. Linh is a Vietnamese/Australian intelligent university student who meets lots of horrible people but also some unexpected relationships that effects her life in a good way. It is a compelling story with interesting twists and a good cast.
