In this unhistorical account, Capt. William Kidd is already a clever, ruthless pirate when, in 1699, he tricks the king into commissioning him as escort for a treasure ship from India. He enlists a crew of pardoned cutthroats - and Orange Povey, whom Kidd once abandoned on a reef and hoped never to see again. Of course, Kidd's intentions are treacherous. | User ReviewAshley HCaptain Kidd is an excellent film. It is about the adventures of pirate Captain Kidd that revolve around treasure and treachery. Charles Laughton and Randolph Scott give amazing performances. The screenplay is well written. Rowland V. Lee did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the drama and adventure. Captain Kidd is a must see. |
