Broncho Billy, on a pilgrimage, pulls up at a small tavern and takes a room there for the night. The pretty daughter of the tavern-keeper has many sweethearts, but the father, fearing he will lose his daughter, starts a row with them, wounding one seriously. Broncho Billy takes the wounded man's part and makes the tavern-keeper provide a bed for him, while the doctor is sent for. Luckily, the young man recovers and the old tavern-keeper is persuaded to give the young couple his blessing.
