Ozus' World Movie Reviews - 9/10 by Dennis SchwartzSet in a Stockholm maternity ward and covers the mental and physical pains of three expecting mothers.
User Review - 10/10 by Mayukh BThis movie is not nearly well known enough. It is one of Ingrid Thulin's most subtle perofrmance and of Bibi Anderson,s most powerful. The story is gripping, well tought out and so deep it will leave a mark for good on most. It is also very tender and like all the best Bergman, never gets swallowed in its despair as the richness of its caracters souls always prevail.
User Review - 8/10 by Michael TLesser-known Bergman drama reflects on life and death on a maternity ward.
User Review - 8/10 by Alailson BAs atuações do trio protagonista são de altíssimo nível, ajudadas pelo roteiro correto e a direção quase que só em cenário de Bergman.
User Review - 8/10 by Matteo NEva Dahlbeck is simply amazing. Thulin and Andersson are great too, but Dahlbeck really won me over. She provides the film's most devastating moment, one of the most heart-wrenching and sorrowful scenes I've ever seen in a Bergman film. I also get such a kick out of Max Von Sydow when he's playing an upbeat character. A film not without flaws, but rewarding nonetheless.
User Review - 8/10 by Private UAnother typically great Bergman movie that's over shadowed by the fact that he released like five masterpieces in the period of about three years. This is one of Bergman's few studies of birth, so it's definitely worth tracking down.
User Review - 6/10 by Tommi AChildbirth isn't exactly my thing, seeing as I'm a single man without children. But it might be in the future, And I have at times wondered what giving birth is like emotionally, something which this film partly answers.
