AXS.comTom SantilliBreaking and Exiting is in theaters this weekend, and that's about the best compliment it can be given.
ScreenAnarchyFrank OchiengBreaking & Exiting should be more than a movie-going misdemeanor in this felonious flop devoted to a pair of lop-sided lonely hearts in transition.
VarietyDennis HarveyDespite surface polish, this indie feels like a classroom exercise that checks off the basic technical and narrative-beat boxes needed to get a passing grade, yet never develops any real personality of its own or raison d’etre.
Los Angeles TimesKimber MyersActor-turned-director Peter Facinelli makes his behind-the-camera debut, and beyond the film’s many script issues, it’s not entirely without its charms. Peter and Daisy might not make sense, but Gibson and Hinson almost sell it with strong chemistry.
The Hollywood ReporterJohn DeForeThe screenplay suffers from a severe imagination deficit, as if this twisted take on "meet cute" should be enough by itself to hang a movie on. It isn't.
User ReviewManuel NThis actually looks really good on boxxy software
User ReviewMatthew FExcellent first time effort from emerging talent.
User ReviewJames BReally enjoyed this film. Peter Facinelli kept the camera work fluid and it never felt claustrophobic. I was highly impressed this was his first feature. The film is better then most studio romantic comendies. And the storyline was intriguing with a great sound track. I hope they release the songs on a soundtrack album. I'd love to purchase it. Milo Gibson makes his leading man debut and he reminds me of his dad Mel Gibson. Charming and good looking, and his acting was well directed. Jordan Hinson stars and also wrote the screen play. I loved her in Eureka and their chemistry is undeniable. I loved the message of the film, I rooted for the characters, and Facinelli nails a great tone whick is hard to do when you have a story involving themes of suicide suicide prevention. Watch this film. Had me from start to finish. You will certainly love it. Kudos to the actors for their performances and kudos to Facinelli for telling a compelling story, with a great cinematic style. Look forward to seeing him direct more. My only regret is that he wasn't in it. Aside from a little Easter egg of a picture of his character from Twilight. Facinelli has been in so many films. I love his versatility as an actor. And his leap into directing is done with ease.
User ReviewBianca KI don't know why this movie didn't get better reviews. I loved it. Especially for an independent feature. Reminded me of a play. Bravo and well done to the cast and crew!
