Several years before, Andy Walker, an American, had led Lola a life of sin before they married, and then the two disappeared. José goes to "The Devil's Bowl," a notorious hideout for thieves, where he finds Lola ill with tuberculosis. Andy arrives, chased by four American ranchers for cattle rustling. Andy forces José to change clothes, and José is mistaken by the ranchers for Andy. They let José go, after Lola's pleas, but first they brand him on the forehead. A gunfight ensues between José and Andy in which the latter kills Lola. The Rurales capture José but later collaborate with him in Andy's capture. In the end, José and Conchita are reunited.
