User ReviewRoger EAwsome movie, and Great sound track by Thee Michelle Gun Elephant.
User ReviewRichard EWonderful soundtrack by TMGE too. First time I've heard of this Japanese band, and I thought, what a weird name. Anyway, it was a very edgy movie, and it made me cringe a few times. The last 15 minutes or so is perfect - the artistic direction, the song, the mood. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a dvd if I see one.
User ReviewAndrea CAbsolutely stunning piece of work from Toshiaki Toyoda in what is only his second film. And a stunning soundtrack Watch it now!!!!
User ReviewSean VGreat music by "Thee Michelle Gun Elephant"
User ReviewLuce Di really really love this.. and the B.O wa honto ni sugoi!!!
User ReviewNaomi PBased on the fantastic manga, this is a gritty, surreal and downbeat film about high school. Saw this on Sept. 12, 2001 and unfortunately there was a plane in the film that the audience couldn't seem to get past, I'm sure everyone was thinking about very recent events, very understandable, but the Q&A was more about the plane than about the movie. These are probably the same people who watch TMZ nowadays.
User ReviewSara DVery shocking. But a good moving. I can't believe that guy stabbed someone to death.
User ReviewStephanie RI can't find the words to describe how much I LOVED this film (as wll as EVERYTHING else of toyoda that I have seen). Apparently, this is a look into today's youth in japan. Whether or not it is represented properly, it is still a very powerful film. The performances are top notch, the cinematography is brilliant, very good direction, and one of the best uses of music in modern film. I have yet to know someone who has seen this and hasn't enjoyed it. A must see.
User ReviewJuja CWithout that abuse of special effects that so much I hate, and without the necessity of being a bloodbath (It's violent but the violence is always off-screen), this movie is an example of "less is more". It has the aptitude of moving me with its simplicity. Blue Spring shows teenage hopelessness and the fear to the future in a school where teachers doesn't care about what their boys do, and how all this situation can destroy one of the last important things that these boys have: Friendship. Great cast, beautiful symbolism and amazing soundtrack. The last scene.... wow.
