Full Plot Details

Miguel, a young man with a horribly disfigured face, goes on a rampage at a masquerade party and rapes a girl. He then brutally hacks up the young woman with a pair of scissors. Miguel is institutionalized at a mental asylum for five years. Afterward, he is released into the care of his sister, Manuela. Along with their wheelchair bound mother, they operate a boarding school for young woman, called Europe's International Youth-Club Boarding School of Languages, on the Spanish resort of Costa Del Sol. Miguel is intrigued by Angela, a long-haired brunette, whom he first saw on the train ride from the sanitarium. The creepy Miguel follows her around. Miguel meets with Manuela to request that they resume their incestuous relationship. She reminds him that it was this relationship that made him emotionally unstable five years earlier. She says they cannot because nobody understands them: "Only if we could get rid of everyone, then things could go back to the way they were." Then Angela's friends are killed one by one. One, while topless, is skewered from behind by a 12-inch knife that exits her right nipple. Another is coerced by a romantic masked Spaniard who insists on tying her up in an abandoned lumber mill (which according to her is "kinky," but OK) and is decapitated quite nicely with a large power saw, complete with squirting blood from her neck. A young boy is run over mid-section by a Mercedes. Another friend is strangled by smoldering fireplace tongs. There is also the real decapitation of a snake. When the girls start to turn up missing, nobody believes Angela that there's a killer on the loose. She had seen the corpse of one girl, and it was gone as soon as she went for help. Confused and scared, Angela finally looks for help from the people who run the school.

User Review - 10/10 by Jeff WAmazing slasher from the usually lame Jess Franco. This film has some of the best music I've heard in a horror film ever, not to mention some fairly effective lighting and pretty decent kills. The characters aren't that bad either. Highly recommended.
User Review - 10/10 by Wayne ZLots of improbable deaths make this film a keeper. The stand-out being a woman who is tied up (in the belief that she is participating in a kinky sex game) then has her head cut off by a rotating blade. A little boy who witnesses this runs away only to be run over by the killer in his car! (Astoundingly poor taste, but very funny!) Another victim has a 6" blade stuck in her back but amazingly it manages to exit through her nipple! A snake has its head cut off with hedge trimmers (for real) just for the purpose of sensationalism! A very good looking female cast also help to make this film a (dubious) pleasure.
User Review - 8/10 by Al MStylish and brutal, Bloody Moon is one of Jesus Franco's best films: a pitch perfect entry in the 80s slasher canon.
User Review - 8/10 by Spookie MJess Franco's "masterpiece" is badly dubbed but is an interesting entry into the slasher genre.
User Review - 8/10 by Carl NI am a big Jess Franco fan so I was very interested to view his take on the slasher genre. I must say I was not disappointed. This film does not feature the usual franco sleaze, but he makes up for that by some gruesome brutal and graphic gore. The stand out being the saw mill scene. The acting is usual euro horror standard. The one stand out is Olivia Pascal, who gives a good turn as the heroine. But thats only if you can get past the comical dubbing of her voice.
User Review - 8/10 by Steve EIn the glorious tradition of...Pieces, Bloody Moon is brought to us by our sadistic friends from Spain. Just like that little gem of Euro sleaze, Bloody Moon features some shockingly realistic death scenes including the deservingly hyped saw death. However, besides these well orchestrated moments of terrifying grue, there's a whole lot of cheese to wade through. Don't let this discourage you, because, as a matter of fact, Bloody Moon really comes alive during these loooooong dead spots where we get to witness the characters daily interactions. The dialogue that spews from these nitwits' mouths is just too good to be true. Whether the credit goes through bad translation or simply a bad original script, it's something that will keep you thoroughly entertained while waiting for the next dumb co-ed to get it. There's also a lively score that's a mix or disco, farting synth sounds, and a tune that sounds an awful lot like an instrumental version of a Rocky Horror song. Bloody Moon is a must have cheese and gore extravaganza for all lovers of exploitation and Euro sleaze! Pop this in at your next movie party and see how much fun you'll all have!
User Review - 6/10 by Tracey TWow, I saw this. Rented it from a gas station on VHS. It's a slasher film, and that's about all I remember. i did like it though.
User Review - 6/10 by Bill BThis was a blind-buy based on the crazy cover art, which pays off fairly well considering that it's a Jess Franco film, and he's not exactly known for his linear storytelling. What horror fan doesn't dig a little murder among a bunch of frisky school girls, right? Give it a look.
User Review - 6/10 by DC FLearning a second tongue can be a dangerous thing--Killing beauty queens...Jess Franco Style!!
User Review - 6/10 by Vasilis LI bought this cheap and expected a bit of the ol' "stupid people getting killed nastily"... And that's what I got! A bit slow in the start, and overall, the gap between the graphic killings is a bit too big for it's own good, since the movie itself is not worth much credits. The ending is great though, and the theft from "Psycho" is hilarious!
