StarburstAndrew PollardHas some good moments, particularly in its final third, plus a stylish, twisted killer at its core, but the film comes across as rushed and as if the writers just ran out of ideas for its finale, which is a massive shame.
The Movie SleuthMichelle KisnerThe killer reveal can be seen from space and the characters are so underdeveloped and idiotic that you end up rooting for the killer to take them out.
User ReviewFrankie OBlood Widow is an awesome new take on a classic genre. The story telling is creative and feels fresh. The music is great and there were a lot of creepy camera shots, especially of Widow watching her soon to be victims. It's gory, as you would expect, but it's very well done. It all fits together and the suspense literally had me on the edge of my seat. I can't wait to learn more about Blood Widow in the sequel!
User ReviewAl MSome decent gore and a solidly creeper slasher character do little to alleviate the overall tedium of this film.
User ReviewGimly MIt's a shame that the downfalls of Blood Widow are so severe and frequent, because there's actually quite a bit I really liked about it. I mean it might have been nice if those things occurred in places other than the final ten minutes, but still, points either way.
User ReviewJeff VBad lighting, bad script, nonexistent plot or acting. Gives all other student films a bad name. Still, killer is creepy, deadly and sexy enough to earn herself two stars. Would like to see what she can do in a proper film.
User ReviewAnthony PA dull uninspired slasher film. The film is slow and has about as much tension as an episode of a child's program on PBS kids..A low budget been there done that type of film one to avoid at all costs.
User ReviewSpencer KOuch, really... Ouch. Low budget, I get that. Can't afford awesome actors, I get that. More than likely the actors were all friends in college, I get that. BUT WHO THE FUCK WRITES THIS PIECE OF SHIT. Oh my yeezus. The only reason this gets one star is because the villians character design is BAD ASS. It's a shame The Blood Widow had to be in such a shitty movie because she really could have been a fresh new face in horror.
User ReviewSimon Cterrible from the first scene to the last!!!
User ReviewJapes .You can tell it's a student film by the poor lighting in some shots. If they got the chance to make a movie, you'd think they'd make one that has a little more substance than a person/thing/ghost killing people. We've only seen that 1 trillion times before. There's no character development, bad acting, no plot (literally there's not a plot) and the ending makes you say well, there was no point to this, was there?
