Leave your thoughts about Blinky Bill the Movie.
3AWJim SchembriSweet-hearted, brightly animated, fun-filled children's film...easily the measure of the stuff we see from mega-studios such as Dreamworks and Pixar, and though the animation doesn't quite have their scale or dazzle it's certainly of world standard.
GuardianLuke BuckmasterBlinky’s cranked-to-11 embrace of Australianisms feels a little tacky, like looking inside one of those city shops that flog kangaroo keyrings and green and gold bucket hats. But it’s nevertheless refreshing to see an Australian movie so heart-on-sleeve about expressing national character.
Common Sense MediaSandie Angulo ChenAnimated Aussie adventure promotes teamwork, friendship.
Film Journal InternationalShirley SealyThe thing that makes us sit up and take notice here is the sheer Aussie-ness of the characters, as well as the strange and wondrous depiction of the Australian outback.
Radio TimesDavid ParkinsonThe animation isn't particularly sophisticated, but the ideas certainly are.
Flicks.co.nzGiles HardieA nice film - with all the positives and few negatives that entails.
Times (UK)Kevin MaherBlinky Bill the koala (which first featured in a children's book in 1933) is given a thunderously bland computer-animated makeover.
Herald Sun (Australia)Leigh PaatschHey kids! If your parents reveal plans to put you anywhere near Blinky Bill the Movie this school holidays, you are quite within your rights to ask why you are being punished in this way.
User ReviewOpra WGreat movie, though I admit the animation can be clunky at times. The aussie theme gives it a very original spin. Like most kids movies the plot is predictable for older audiences. They did sneak in some jokes for the adults... but some of that I might be misinterpreting from Australian culture; still made me laugh :)
User ReviewJudith GBrill film enjoyed by both me and the kids especially seen as I grew up watching Blinky it really brought something back
