Mountain Xpress (Asheville, NC)Ken HankeAll in all, Black Dragons is deliciously silly with some magnificently dopey dialogue.
User ReviewDena SI didn't really like the story, but i liked the movie. Bela Lugosi is always fun to watch:)
User ReviewMorgan SThe story could have been told in a much better way and the resulting movie would have been pretty good. However, it wasn't and the result is a confused film about spies in the US. Not bad, but not the best. Watch it if you're a Lugosi fan.
User ReviewJames H5.5/10. The unusual plot lifts this 1940's "B" picture to above average. Bela Lugosi is appropriately creepy. An odd mixture of war propoganda amd horror.
User ReviewChristopher BCloak & dagger "B" movie notable for two actors best known as the fictional characters of Dracula and the Lone Ranger. The final half hour increasingly stretches the plot beyond believably, but is interesting in that the adage "the enemy of my enemy is still my enemy". This film was released several months after the US declared war on Germany & Japan - and introduced the idea that the axis were not working together.
User ReviewLanky Man PA Bela Lugosi spy suspense movie. I really enjoyed it. Much more than I thought I would. Murder and intrigue.
User ReviewJacob GAtrociously acted, and quite amusing at times, Black Dragons features Mr Yes-I-Can, Bela Lugosi as a suspicious character killing off Jap sympathizers, but why? Lugosi is playing a rather curious Anti-Hero here, More anti then hero, and we're never too sure why he's doing this until the film's most-hilarious final minutes. Until then, Less-Then-B actors take turns emoting with the great one until the film's AMAZING final "twist" which had my mouth on the floor on it's pure preposterousness. Totally cheap, bizarre (why and how DID Lugosi keep vanishing?) and stupid (Hey, let's get some Dracula references in when we can (or maybe that was in Bela's contract?)) This was a fun time-waster.
User ReviewIsabelle SMeme si il nous fait toujours la meme tete, il reste assez inquiétant comme personnage.
User ReviewKym (c my community profile) RGotta love mr. Dracula! Bela Lugosi! the man
