Independent on SundayAntonia QuirkeIt's convivial, imaginative, and always cinematic.
TheMovieReport.comMichael DequinaWhen Billy ends his opening monologue saying that the film is for both gays and straights, he is not lying.
User ReviewAnne SI really didn't watch T.V that often.. so missed out on seeing the beginning of Will and Grace.. which is probably a good thing.. because the first time I saw Sean Hayes was this movie.. He is SOOOO much more than "just Jack".. Oh well.. charming movie.. not the most socially important gay movie of all time.. but charming..
User Reviewjay nfunny, heart felt, really good and doesn't talk down to the viewers
User ReviewThomas KThe title card says "A Tommy O'Haver trifle" and that's pretty much correct. There is nothing of consequence in the film, but he really knows how to put a film together and Sean Hayes, pre "Will & Grace", is a charmer. Extra points awarded for featuring Richard Ganoung, from "Parting Glances".
User ReviewBrent MGood movie overall, nicely acted, well written and directed. Nice to find out that Sean Hayes can do more than camp.
User ReviewMichael OOne of the best gay romances ever put on film. It's an every day guy looking for more than just the next best thing. Sean Hayes (pre-Will & Grace) is great...
User ReviewChris MI can just drown in Sean Hayes' dreamy blue eyes forever. I never tire of this film.
User ReviewJarod JThis film is silly and light, but it really hit a chord with me in 1998, almost as if it were the sequel to the even more ground-breaking "Parting Glances" in 1986. Low budget but clever and fun. The opening sequence is priceless. "Will & Grace" may be the proof of just how much America has changed in the last twenty years, but also how much it hasn't. This film shows just how talented and charming Sean Hayes is. He should have become an all-American romantic lead, not just an over-the-top TV gay stereotype.
User ReviewThayesha LFunny and sweet. Great gay movie. I never noticed how beautiful Sean Hayes' eyes are until I saw it.
