Common Sense MediaTracy MoorePensive coming-of-age surfer tale has a few iffy scenes.
User ReviewGeoff MMy wife and I watched it last night and loved it. Great family friendly movie. I have surfed many of the spots personally. I love the old Ford surf van in it. Great way to get motivated for the summer.
User ReviewJon Cvery well made direct-to-video movie Aimee Teegarden puts on a relatable performance playing a surfer aiming to finish what her father started Lance Henriksen is pretty good as the grandfather hoping to rekindle what he also lost the music is emotionally satisfying, there's gorgeous cinematography, and not a single actor is terrible 1 or 2 plotholes come up, however, the movie feels artful enough but not to get stuck in the areas of manipulation, being mean-spirited or blatant young girls will enjoy this journey of self-discovery, reconnection, love, family, hope, and rememberance
User ReviewLoris GGreat family film, great scenery and fab soundtrack....not bad "beach boys" either!
User ReviewDaniel RSome films are made with only the sole purpose of making the viewer happy. This is one of those films. It does succeed slightly, although it is mostly kind of dull to watch. However, if you're interested in what post "Friday Night Lights" Aimee Teegarden or post "Home Improvement" Patricia Richardson are doing this is the film for you. I also must say that this film proves that Lance Henriksen is the most versatile cot damn actor in all of Hollywood.
User ReviewPorkenstein tMost surf movies have great footage of the waves and the surfers with an amazing story full of emotional punch. This movie is more of a road trip along the beach kind of story with a weak plot and a weak love story. It may be worth a watch, but it is rather forgettable.
User ReviewUrmi CGorgeous surf photography but the characters were cardboard cutouts and the story was super boring. I like Aimee Teagarden though, she's not a typical Hollywood bimbette-type.
