Cinema CrazedFelix Vasquez Jr.Not just Batman's tale, but it's also Commissioner Gordon's tale...
Sci-Fi Movie PageJames O'EhleyThe graphic novel, as they say, is always better but this animated adaptation of the 1980s comic isn't half bad . . .
EspinofSergio BenítezWith an extremely short running time, it manages to capture the essence of what made the comic book work so well. [Full review in Spanish]
IGN DVDR. L. ShafferA stale adaptation of the classic Frank Miller comic. The film drowns in bad voice work and lacks the visual nuances found in the original story.

User ReviewMichael BReally good. Inspired the Dark Knight Trilogy.
User ReviewIan SPerfectly serviceable (and arguably completely unnecessary) animated DC fare. Suffers considerably from not having Kevin Conroy voice Batman; Ben McKenzie does an okay job but lacks grit. Catwoman is completely wasted. Like many other DC/Marvel animated movies, it's way too short and the pacing is completely killed by a rushed ending - it feels very much like a "part 1" and leaves me with the impression that Year One would've been better served as a TV series. But, great animation and a nice effort.
User ReviewNino Gerard Yif you love and miss Batman Animated Series, this is the movie to watch!
User ReviewJosh BOh man, did I like this! To me this was more of a Jim Gordon movie than Batman. Before he became commissioner Gordon just moving to Gotham City.
User ReviewShaun BGreat adaptation of the classic Frank Miller graphic novel.
