| User ReviewSteve gLoved this film, it's hard and dark and moody with comic touches in there too. Clearly, a rather low budget film which showed in a couple places in truth but loved the believable story and found it hard hitting and authentic! The fact that on London streets we see people getting killed for next to nothing made this film far more believable than a lot of the mockney crap that's out there. A real treat to see such good actors in a low budget film of this nature e.g. Dexter Fletcher puts in a great comic yet chilling performance at times. I also spotted Guy Burnet in a cracking scene at the start of the film and really like that this had a strong female character in a film of this nature played by the talented Zoe Tapper. Real shame they haven't followed this up with a couple more and made a franchise of crime features like some of the other UK crime films have done. I think if this had been a bigger budget film (had a bigger name in the lead, bigger stunts, explosions etc even though Freddie Connor, the lead role did a good job especially going from a wide-eyed normal guy out of his depth to a cold-hearted killer in the end) this film no doubt would have been far bigger. Still, despite its low budget nature it's hard to fault, this is a real gem in the UK crime genre! |
