An angel, Mohini, and a Yaksha fall in love in heaven. Indra, the king of heaven, is interested in Mohini but is unable to separate the lovers. He curses them to be born as humans on Earth. The Yaksha, now Balaraju, is brought up by a shepherd and Mohini is found in a field by Kamma Naidu, who names her as Sita.
