Biographical sports drama based on the life of former Indian international cricketer, Mohammad Azharuddin
Leave your thoughts about Azhar.
The Times of IndiaMeena IyerEmraan bears no physical resemblance to Azharruddin. However his mannerisms-the blinking of his eyes and swagger add to a knockout performance. Watch Azhar for him.
Hindustan TimesRohit VatsThe Emraan Hashmi charm mixed with shy Azharuddin mannerisms makes it a heady cocktail. You wouldn't want to put it down without giving it a try.
Gulf News (UAE)Manjusha RadhakrishnanIf you are expecting Hashmi to deliver a captain's innings here, then you are looking up the wrong film.
FilmfareRachit GuptaMohammed Azharuddin's much anticipated biopic is an underwhelming, face-saving exercise where one of the hottest sporting stories is relegated to formulaic heroism and courtroom antics.
The National (UAE)Sonali KokraIf you're a fan of cricket, Azhar will make you angry. Even if you're not, it will surely irritate you with its glibness.
Scroll.inNandini RamnathAzhar is a botched opportunity to present a nuanced portrait of one of Indian cricket's most enigmatic figures.
User ReviewPrasanna BWatching reel life Azhar is a delightful experience. The tight 2 hour running time gives the movie a fast moving story that you won't be bored of. ~MovieRecipe

User ReviewDinesh PI was surprised that I didn't dislike this slow to medium-paced filmy movie. It is flawed but still kinda likable. Why didn't Emraan Hashmi attempt to look more like the real Azharuddin though?
User ReviewAhmed M"Azhar" doesn't fixate completely on the cricketer's personal or professional life. It is sheer Bolly-mash inspired from a few real-life incidents. There is neither the dramatic flair, nor the thrills. Songs are the only savior here (along with an okayish Emraan Hashmi), but they too did not necessarily drive the story any further and ended up as mere filler.
