Gurgaon is the most modern boom-town of "India Shining", the new frontier to be conquered by those who understand real estate. This city rose from a small town to a boom town satellite city in just fifteen years. However the law and order is yet to catch up. A family of Policemen - A family of Gangsters - Under the guise of a respected citizen, Yashwardhan (Jackie Shroff) runs a parallel world - a world, where he is the Emperor. To bring down a criminal - the law will have to now think like a criminal. When Vishal (Arjun Kapoor) is planted in Yashwardhan's world in place of Ajay (Arjun Kapoor), the lawmakers (Rishi Kapoor and Prithviraj) roll the dice and a sequence of events unravel - something much more than what Vishal bargained for, as he finds himself in a predicament that puts him to the test. Aurangzeb is all about a world where Kingship knows no Kinship and where there can be only one Emperor.

The New York TimesRachel SaltzThe plot of Aurangzeb is inevitably too complicated, and the themes presented more interestingly than they are wrapped up. But for much of the nearly two-and-a-half-hour running time, it ably weaves Bollywood tropes...with contemporary outrage at the rules of the game.
Georgia StraightItrath SyedAurangzeb keeps you engaged as it reimagines the classic Bollywood trope of brothers on opposite sides of the law and the potential redemption of filial love. Sadly, cynicism and ambivalence are the modern components to this narrative.
User ReviewSathi SNot your typical Yash Raj lovey dovey flick. All star cast, especially Arjun Kapoor. He killed his double role as identical twins.
User ReviewJasrick JA crime drama about twin brothers, and how they get entangled in a battle were a family of businessman are against a family of cops, both family are crooked... In my opinon one india's best crime dramas which reminds of deewar and departed. Film has a complex story with twists, turns etc and story is also character driven.Rishi Kapoor, Prithviraj stand out with amazing performances and Arjun Kapoor and Jackie Shroff are good. Highly recommened watch!!!
User ReviewDustin DA cool, grindhouse crime flick, Bollywood style.
User ReviewThegodfathersonAurangzeb is primarily about inheritance of character from parent to child. And the opening underlines this theme with a quote from Roman poet Horace, ‘Deep in the cavern of the infant’s breast; the father’s nature lurks, and lives anew.’ Aurangzeb is a tight political drama that uses the nexus between cops and real estate mafia to weave a tale of deceit, treachery, double crossing and revenge. Set in Gurgaon the story revolves around the cat and mouse game between Yashwardhan Singh (Jackie Shroff) and the police force lead by Rishi Kapoor and Prithviraj. Arjun Kapoor plays the double role of twin brothers Vishal and Ajay who lead different lives because of the circumstances that separated them. However, you have to be patient with Aurangzeb as it takes a while before the storyline actually starts moving. The first half is strong, but the climax and focus on the family ties and relationship dilutes the hardcore gangster flick that it set out to be. Dialogues are sharp, but scenes between Arjun and his mother, or his relationship with Jackie are lengthy and ramble on beyond a point. Also, Sabharwal gives away too much too soon making the climax fall flat. Watch Aurangzeb for some stellar performances lead by Arjun Kapoor and a solid supporting cast. It's a damn hardcore flick.
User ReviewZeeshan SAn exciting and original screenplay inspired from historical literature. Good intense performances, but suffers from the plot wearing out due to use of some poor dialogues and sequences, but overall the language and tone of the film is very good and reminds you of the good ol' Ram Gopal Varma's underworld/political dramas.
User ReviewNaren BIt's difficult to categorize this movie under 1 genre...! Rishi Kapoor, prudhviraj and Jackie Shroff stand out in their performances..!! The storyline is so complicated and a complete thriller..! Considering myself a good orator.., I had a tough time summarizing the story in itself..!! Coming from such a big production house, the music was a dud and disaster. The background score wasn't any better either..! Arjun kapoor stands out and acts for a change..! The director has handled the screenplay and story with ease. It's one of those Abbas mustan movies, with too many twists that u loose your interest in the end..!
