User ReviewJosiah SAn absolutely amazing film about a historical event. It was very accurate to the actual story and extremely well done as a movie. The acting from Bernhard Bettermann was amazing and the rest of the cast incredible also. The cinematography was awesome and it's amazing how they can make a snow covered nothing beautiful in the footage. Great movie for any historian as well as any movie goer!
User ReviewBig WExcellent movie. Highly recommend. Wasn't expecting much when I decided to watch it, but I was very surprised. I remember hearing this story referenced in other documentaries and survival shows, but didn't know the story. Again, this is only based on the true events, but helps put the reference into perspective.
User ReviewRick AI think the fact that the film was made by Germans and not Americans was the main reason it's so good
User ReviewCynthia SWow, he journeys through Siberia for 3 yrs reach to his wife and kids! Happy ending. :)
User ReviewDave HAdmirable! This movie is remarkable in so many ways. If The Shawshank Redemption was inspirational, a superlative is needed for this one. An ode to heroic perseverance! And, astonishingly, this is a based upon a true story.
User ReviewDagmar Hnever thought I would love a warmovie (or postwar in this case)...very VERY intriguing...and spellbinding...and sad....
User ReviewSoheil WAs a German TV production it was very, very well made: Good acting, screenplay and some great pics! It is worth to watch...
User ReviewMichael DWell made adventure-drama based on real events. It says here it is over 2 and half hours long, but the version I managed to see through Netflix was only 1 hour and 50 min and seemed to jump around a bit too much, especially with key events in the end. But it is still a riveting movie about desparation and determination.
User ReviewRyan OAs Far As My Feet Will Carry Me is a fantastic WWII escape movie from Germany. While the story may seem familiar to most flims in its genre, it isnt. Based on a true story, this film is a fine display of the strenghth of the human spirit during times of turmoil. Coupled with some great acting and fine cinematography, As Far As My Feet Will Carry Me is a journey to go on. The only flaw is at times, the pacing seems a little slow and some moments of peril seem to be over-the-top. Nonetheless, a great film.
